Funding Facts

You can purchase Assistive Technology direct by paying for it yourself or by accessing funding. Not all funding requires an Allied Health Assessment.

Funding for Assistive Technology is available through the following initiatives:

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

Assistive Technology may be included in your NDIS plan. There are different processes to follow to access funding based on the cost and the complexity of your needs.

There are two sections of your NDIS plan which cover funding for Assistive Technology:

  1. Under Core Supports there is funding available through Low Cost, Low Risk Assistive Technology for up to $1500. You can decide what type of equipment you would like and purchase it direct from EasyTech Living without the need for an Allied Health assessment.
  2. Under Assistive Technology there is funding available for more complex needs which involves installation of automated equipment to assist your independence in and around your home. To access this funding an Allied Health assessment is required with recommendations and an Easytech Living quote sent to the NDIA for approval.

Speak with your support co-ordinator or Local Area Co-ordinator (LAC) about including Assistive Technology in your plan or to find out if it is already included

You can also ask for Assistive Technology to be included in your plan at your next plan review meeting or request a plan review to have it included sooner.

Do you manage your own supports? We understand that working out what you are eligible for can sometimes be difficult. If you are unsure that Assistive Technology is included in your plan, our team are available to assist. Contact the Easytech Living team on 03 5329 1326.
